About Me 🪴

Hi, I’m Rue.

During COVID I started contemplating my future and where I want to take it. I didn’t see myself being stuck in a corporate job as it didn’t feel meaningful to me. Slowing down helped me see that I really care about being there for people. I was told I make them feel listened to and seen, and that stuck with me more than I thought. I then started asking myself : is there a job where I can help people and make a real difference?

That’s kind of what led me into studying psychology & counselling.

Also, I lived abroad when I was younger and I think that shaped me a lot. It made me more open, more curious about people, their culture, language, food, and how they navigate life, especially in a more Western world. Speaking three languages and the love for traveling have gotten me into exciting and wonderful situations that made it more immersive.

Overall, I love learning new things and consider myself a lifelong learner. For a hobby, I do 2D and 3D art and get a bit too attached to things I’ve made up. I think it’s the perfectionist in me, but I’m slowly learning to let go of that and be more messy with it. A friend once told me being messy is important in life because it allows you to embrace the mistakes instead of running away from them. I think I’m finally starting to believe that.

This is just a small space for my thoughts, the ones that don’t really fit anywhere else. I’m really glad you are here.
